Most of us have witnessed mounting evidence that our educational systems are in distress. In a paradox that is beyond comprehension, we've managed to create school experiences that wreck our children with stress, anxiety, and fear while managing to provide very little academic rigor. It's a sad current reality, but it does not need to be our future. Within our communities, we already have everything needed to foster peaceful, vibrant environments where students thrive intellectually, socially, and emotionally. I know this to be true, because I've built several of these schools. Welcome to the idea of the Learning Haven, a classical approach to education and community building. I hope you'll join me for an introduction to the system I've been honing for over seven years. In this workshop, I'll share the story of Learning Havens, and why you might want to think of building one in your community.
