Description

This class provides a deep dive into the administration of nutrients through intravenous (IV) therapy versus oral supplementation. Students will explore the science, practical applications, and clinical considerations that differentiate the two delivery methods. Topics include nutrient absorption and bioavailability, the impact of digestive health on nutrient uptake, and the role of IV administration in addressing deficiencies and supporting acute or chronic conditions. Participants will gain an understanding of when IV therapy may be preferable, when oral supplementation is sufficient, and the safety and ethical considerations involved. By the end of the class, learners will be able to evaluate case scenarios, recommend appropriate routes of nutrient delivery, and understand the physiological principles behind both approaches.
