English Language Arts: Literature & Composition develops students’ abilities to read closely, think critically, and communicate clearly through writing and discussion. Students study major works of literature across genres and time periods while building skills in analytical, argumentative, and narrative writing. Emphasis is placed on textual evidence, literary analysis, grammar in context, and the writing process. The course uses openly available instructional materials and public-domain texts aligned to secondary ELA standards.
