Description

This Spelling course follows a traditional, mastery-based approach focused on accurate spelling, word recognition, and vocabulary development. Instruction emphasizes phonetic patterns, word families, repetition, and correct usage rather than memorization of disconnected lists alone.

Students learn spelling through steady practice, dictation, copywork, and review. Younger students focus on sound–letter relationships and common word patterns, while older students expand into syllabication, roots, prefixes, suffixes, and vocabulary drawn from reading and writing work. Spelling is treated as a skill developed over time through consistency and application, closely supporting reading and composition.
